Four of the PFAN members attended the annual STIC-Asia meeting in Guangzhou, China from 1-4 June 2011. STIC-Asia is a regional cooperation program between France and Asian countries and is managed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this framework, each year STIC-Asia program announces a call for research proposal that supports mobility funding between French and Asian research partners.
In 2009, Dr. Amir Qayyum, PFAN President, was successful in obtaining one of the STIC-Asia grants. Thus, this year he was sponsored by the STIC-Asia committee to present his project progress in the meeting. The remaining three participants, Dr. Atiq Ahmad from University of Balochistan, Dr. Hamid Mukhtar from NUST and Dr. Taimur Qureshi from GIKI were sponsored by the French embassy in Pakistan.
Previously three persons, including the PFAN member Dr. Kashif Riaz, participated in the BIOASIA meeting in Korea.
